One of the numerous returning franchises dominating the Summer 2022 anime calendar is Classroom of the Elite, and the show has already made known how many episodes it will be staying around for. The original light book series by Shogo Kinugasa and Shunsaku Tomose’s first season ended so long ago that it was gradually becoming one of the anime fans’ last hopes to see it return. Then it was unexpectedly revealed that there were plans to not only return for a second season, but also for a third one soon after.
On July 4th, Classroom of the Elite will premiere Season 2 of its run, and Crunchyroll has announced that it will broadcast the new season concurrently with its debut. The second season’s Blu-ray and DVD volume releases in Japan are currently listed Season 2 with 13 episodes spread over four separate home media releases, according to the official website for the television show. With just one course scheduled for the second season throughout the summer, it seems that it will continue for one episode longer than the first season schedule from years ago.
For Studio Lerche, Seiji Kishi and Hiroyuki Hashimoto will return to direct Seasons 2 and 3 (which is slated to air sometime in 2023) respectively. If you wanted to catch up before the new episodes air this month, you may do so by watching the cast from the first season, which is also anticipated to return for both of these new seasons (which are set to adapt the full first year from the original light novels). Crunchyroll is now offering Classroom of the Elite for streaming. As for what Classroom of the Elite II could bring, Crunchyroll previews the second season as follows:
“Although Tokyo Metropolitan Advanced Nurturing High School seems to be a utopia, it is really a strict meritocracy. Kiyotaka has started assisting Suzune, who wants to move up in the class of underachievers. They get to enjoy a luxury liner after passing a survival exam on an isolated island, but then a new class-scrambling test will start! Will you put in more time for your group, your class, or yourself?”

Second episode of Classroom of the Elite II recap
Ayanokoji, Hirata, and Yukimura talk in the boys’ room. The gang learns from Hirata that Kushida informed him she is the VIP. All they need to do, according to Koenji, is locate the liar. They unexpectedly get an email letting them know that Group Saturn has concluded their test. Ayanokoji and Horikita later get together to chat. In order to learn more about Karuizawa, Ayanokoji informs Horikita that he feels she is weird in some way. Horikita advises him that it is pointless, but Ayanokoji makes her think about first impressions. Ayanokoji considers how Class D must maintain some sort of cohesion in order to advance.
When Ryuuen shows up, he questions Horikita about her strategy. Horikita rejects his approaches and remains silent. Ryuuen assures her, though, that he is close to locating the VIP. He also asserts that Class C may triumph with a resounding victory. Horikita doesn’t think he’s real, but Ayanokoji believes he could be. The idea put out by Ryuuen is that Class C, Class D, and Class B may cooperate, share knowledge, and overcome Class A. Ryuuen departs when Horikita dismisses the idea.
Ayanokoji runs into Kushida after speaking with Horikita. She feels lonely all of a sudden and leans on Ayanokoji’s chest. She apologizes right quickly and leaves. The instructors are sipping beverages in the meantime. They briefly discuss Ayanokoji’s rise to prominence in the island test. Ayanokoji hears Karuizawa and Hirata talking while she is on the go. He discovers that Karuizawa and Hirata were merely acting as though they were dating, and that Hirata had only consented to the fictitious union for her protection.
Group Mars keeps talking, but their conversations are at a standstill. Following the conversation, Manabe and the others pursue Karuizawa and eventually corner her. Ayanokoji and Yukimura lag behind, keeping a low profile around the females. Manabe and the others eventually begin assaulting Karuizawa. Yukimura is prevented from becoming involved by Ayanokoji so that he may see how things develop.
The Elite Classroom’s Special Test is now taking place.
Ayanokoji plans to manoeuvre his way to victory as usual. After learning the Special Exam’s guidelines, he said that thinking about how he thinks other people will behave so he might influence them sounds bothersome, indicating that this sophisticated test is still not very difficult for him, only slightly tiresome. Ayanokoji sat with Horikita as they awaited the confidential emails telling the VIPs of their status that morning and spoke about how they might exploit this Special Test to advance Horikita into Class 1-A.
Even though they are in different groups and aiding one another won’t assist in the exam, Ayanokoji promised to help Horikita. But after privately admitting that he doesn’t consider anybody, not even Horikita, an ally since he just views individuals as a tool to his own objectives, it’s difficult to believe anything he says. The similarly enigmatic Ayanokoji is being pursued by an unidentified gang for unknown motives, but the dispassionate genius is solely concerned with preserving his independence as a student at ANHS.
Unsurprisingly, there was conflict in Ayanokoji’s group; the Class 1-A members determined that the best and safest way to pass the Special Test was to avoid engaging in the talks. Although Ayanokoji pointed out that they could have hidden agendas and might still be trying to take advantage of the other Classes as 1-A is known to do, he can’t really contest their reasoning at this point. One can only speculate as to what diabolical puppet-mastery Ayanokoji will get up to this time around as Classroom of the Elite progresses given that the Special Test is only halfway through Day 1 and he has already revealed to Horikita that he has already thought of several preliminary paths to victory.
