Date A Live, Over 150 million people perished in a catastrophic “spatial quake” that ravaged the Eurasian continent thirty years ago. This phenomena included space vibrations of unknown origin. Since that time, these earthquakes have sometimes affected the whole planet, although on a smaller scale.
Shidou Itsuka, a high school student who seems to be ordinary, lives with his younger sister, Kotori. He goes to help her as an impending spatial quake imperils Tengu City’s security, only to be ensnared in the eruption that follows. At its epicenter, he finds a mystery girl who turns out to be a “Spirit,” an extraterrestrial being whose arrival causes a space quake. Soon after, he finds himself involved in a battle between the girl and the Anti-Spirit Team, a vicious assault team whose mission is to exterminate Spirits, Date A Live.
Ratatoskr, which is shockingly led by Shidou’s younger sister, is a third faction that is dedicated to rescuing the spirits. After the fight, Kotori forcefully joins Shidou and offers him a different strategy for overcoming the threat presented by the Spirits: make them fall in love with him. Now that he is looking for Spirits in order to seduce them, the destiny of the planet depends on his courting skills, Date A Live.
