Unbelievable Animation
Amazing animation in Demon Slayer Season 2 much beyond that in Demon Slayer Season 1 or the Mugen Train movie. But in addition to that, a rather delicate and exquisite tale was woven into the season’s profusion of kimonos.
Demon Slayer Season 2’s last six episodes were each action-packed masterpieces that adorned our screens and engulfed the anime community in flames. The back and forth between the two combating troops was well staged from beginning to finish, making the conflict a delight to behold.
Explanation of Demon Slayer Season 2’s finale
The whole season’s narrative is brought to a close in the Demon Slayer Season 2 conclusion, and it does it flawlessly. Daki and Gyutaro’s tale is wrapped up in this episode, and we also get a sneak peek at some upcoming characters.
Tanjiro and the squad are taken aback at the beginning of the episode when they learn that Gyutaro still possesses a secret weapon he uses as a last option in his battles. The bloody blades of Gyotaro had filled the whole screen.
Then we learn that Nezuko has recovered from her last direct confrontation with Daki and has spared everyone’s lives. The atmosphere then abruptly changes, and in the middle of the smoke, we learn that Tanjiro has awakened from the struggle.
While Tanjiro is getting well, he thinks about Zenitsu, Inosuke, and Uzui who were horribly hurt during the battle with Daki and Gyotaro and were obviously infected. He rushes to all the wounded while carrying Nezuko on his shoulder, healing them along the way with Nezuko’s Blood Art.
Send from Tengen Uzui Off Uzui’s narrative arc is complete as he signs off as an ex-hashiras and departs the series in a historical sense with grace and respect for his line of work. He makes the decision to hang up his boots in order to live a tranquil and contented life going forward with both of his wives.
Many workaholics throughout the globe, who would be able to recognize all the analogies the narrative depicted, would find encouragement in Uzui’s story of attaining what he wanted to at the conclusion of a profession that he loved and was excellent at.
The Demon Brothers: Gyutaro and Daki
The narrative of Daki and Gyotaro, on the other hand, turned out to be the most effective method they could have shown a full contrast of the sister and brother relationship Tanjiro and Nezuko share, as well as depicting the What If? scenario in a world where Tanjiro would have also found himself.
A significant exchange between the two occurs in the last episode, during which they both express regret for how they behaved toward one another and how they were prepared to hold their sibling responsible for their deaths rather than cherishing their remaining time together.
The last remnants of Gyutaro take us back to a flashback where a young Gyutaro, still human, finds himself rejected from the society of the Entertainment District who only aspire to beauty and elegance, rather than the ugly trash that Gyutaro was, but only in appearance. First Daki is gone from the battlefield, ash flying through the atmosphere, and then the last remnants of Gyutaro.
Then Daki is born, and as a result of the birth, their mother dies, leaving the two siblings to survive on their own. Gyutaro improvises in battle and takes on the character of the collector in the Entertainment District, while the more attractive Daki assumes the role assigned to women in this circumstance.
This pattern serves them well up until Daki amputates the eye of a disobedient samurai while at work, which leads to Gyutaro being severely hurt but murdering the samurai off, and Daki being slain by the samurai’s hand.
Gyutaro takes the lifeless corpse of Daki and flees the Entertainment District in search of the Upper Six Moon Demon, who gives them a means to transcend human life and explore demon hood.
Death of Demons
When the flashback concludes, we see Gyutaro’s still-decomposing head crying over how their life has turned out and blaming his failure to teach his sister appropriate manners and etiquette for their decision to live as demons.
When Gyutaro awakens after his ashes have soared into the sky, we see the liminal region between what appears to be hell and paradise for demons for the first time in the series. A young Daki is standing by his side as he scans the area.
After his lengthy speech on controlling Daki’s life, he commands her to live on her terms, reject her elder brother’s hand, and seek the implied joy that is there in front of them.
However, Daki knocks him off and gets on his back, exactly as Nezuko usually is on Tanjiro’s back in the little cask he created for her, further establishing the dualities inherent between the two sibling pairings. They then hurry out to the blazing fires, which connote a strong sensation of hell.
What the Entertainment District Arc Means
Let’s now consider the reasons for such a brief and distinct plot arc in a novel that has such a rich cast of characters, each with their own personalities and reasons for being in this fantastical universe. The recurring themes in this specific series of episodes may provide the solution.
This arc’s primary goal was to highlight societal prejudices about any area that is involved in local entertainment. In real life, this might be Silicon Valley or Hollywood, where prejudices are motivated by monetary gain and aesthetic gratification.
As seen by Daki’s death and Gyutaro’s injuries, this prejudice teaches society’s hierarchy that the wealthy and powerful are untouchable and as a result should or may take all you work for.
The meaning of retirement was yet another subject that this arc explored. The spectacle of Uzui hanging out his boots for Tanjiro and the gang to follow after him brilliantly countered the fact that women who have become old and frail are pushed into retirement, leaving them powerless and without methods to earn.
The Entertainment District Arc was stunning and did an excellent job of capturing the nightlife of Japan’s shogun era. The remarkable use of color, speech, and aesthetics conveyed the idea that everyone in a crowd is unimportant, regardless of how showy or unattractive they may be.
The Conflict’s Implications
The conflict that came to an end after six episodes of unmatched suspense and stakes had some of the worst outcomes in the whole run of the show. We have never seen an Upper Moon Demon perish before.
A conference was convened the last time a demon with any connection to Muzan Kibutsuji, the primary enemy, was exterminated, like in the case of Rui, the Lesser One Moon Demon. As a result, the anime picks off right where it left off with the Upper Moon conference.
This simply serves to highlight the level of expectation that every moment in the anime carries in the otaku community. For many fans, the finale was destroyed since they weren’t able to see the immensity of all the Upper Moon Demons in one spot.
Another significant event in the anime was the Demon Slayer Association’s two diametrically opposed responses to the fight’s end. On the one hand, Obanai Iguro, the Association’s snake pillar, said that the death of one Upper Moon Demon wouldn’t really make a difference.
On the other side, Kagaya Ubuyashiki, the chairman of the Demon Slayer Association, becomes very thrilled while heaving admirably about the work Tanjiro, Uzui, and the whole gang while he bleeds out in bed and seems to be suffering from a fatal ailment.
These contradictory responses within the Association lead us to the conclusion that the difference in power between the Hashira and Upper Moons has been for a very long time maintained in a liminal space but that things will change in the coming days with the up and coming Tanjiro and his sun-breathing abilities.
