Sony and Insomniac Games have unveiled a brand-new teaser ahead of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered’s PC release next month that highlights some of the PC-only features we can anticipate.
Along with the release of the clip, Mike Fitzgerald, the core technology director of Insomniac Games, wrote a post on the official PlayStation Blog(opens in new tab) that went into detail about the projects that Insomniac Games and partner firm Nixxes Software have been working on.
According to Fitzgerald, the companies’ top objective was “to make this game a visual stunner on the PC platform.” This required “offering up significant configurability to PC users with various hardware, as well as bringing some new approaches and tools to push things even further.”
So you can anticipate seeing ray-traced reflections “across the game for those with hardware that supports them” in the PC version of Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered. There will be “several quality settings, including a new, higher-resolution ray-traced option that gives even more city detail” in these.
Support for “a broad variety of display ratios, including ultrawide 21:9, panoramic 32:9, and NVIDIA Surround multi-monitor configurations” is available for RTX users, along with support for NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) and NVIDIA DLAA (Deep Learning Anti-Aliasing).
Many other rendering systems, according to Fitzgerald, “have more quality levels and algorithmic possibilities than they had in the past, making them more flexible.” SSAO, texture filtering, LoD quality, shadows, and other factors are among them. Windowed, full-screen, and only full-screen rendering modes are supported by us.
Players using PCs will benefit from a variety of peripheral support in addition to the graphical enhancements. In addition to the mouse and keyboard, you have the choice of using the DualSense controller for the PS5, and Steam Input compatibility means that “there are many remapping choices available.”
The page also discusses the game’s PC requirements, which are seen in the image below. They go into great detail, covering everything from the absolute minimal requirements to the specifications required for the best ray-tracing experience.

On August 12, Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered will be made available on PC. The blog post ends by stating that if you buy the game in advance of its release, you’ll get a pre-purchase item bundle that contains an early unlock for three Spider-Man outfits, an early unlock for the Spider-Drone combat device, and five more skill points to use for Spidey upgrades.

Sony’s push for PC
The most recent PlayStation game to be converted to the PC is Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered as part of Sony’s drive to bring more of its titles on the platform. It comes after the highly regarded ports of Horizon Zero Dawn and God of War from 2018.
Since 2020, when it said, “We will examine extending our first-party games to the PC platform, in order to foster further development in our profitability,” Sony has been open about its aspirations for PC releases. Hermen Hulst, the head of worldwide studios for PlayStation, made it plain at the time that Sony’s then-new approach would not be to move over every first-party title. Only those that make sense and are appropriate for PC would be ported.
It has become evident this year that Sony is benefiting from the PC ports. It was announced during a shareholder hearing in May that the ports earned $80 million during the most recent fiscal year (running up to the end of March). Sony continued by saying that it anticipates earning $300 million from PC games in the next fiscal year. Although it’s a significant hike, it indicates that the business has significant future intentions for the PC platform.
We already know that Uncharted Collection: Legacy of Thieves and Spider-Man: Miles Morales will both be released on PC. Even while we’re not holding our breath for Bloodborne, we’re interested to see what else Sony has in store.
